The digital switchover is already taking place and in 2009 the Granada region will be fully switched over to digital TV and in 2010 much of the remainder of the UK will also go digital. The cheapest way to get digital TV without any form of subscription or external Satellite dish is to purchase a Digital Set Top Box. We have a number of different DVD recorders in our range. Many of them have a built in Digital Tuner which means they can receive all of the Freeview channels. This makes recording very simple as you can simply scroll through the electronic programme guide (EPG) and select which programme you want to record, even if it is a few days away. We also have HD DVD recorders with and without Freeview channels, again talking to your local stockist should provide you with the perfect DVD product for your needs

If you want the benefit of the latest Freeview channels with the ability to record, play and pause TV, a DTR product is definitely for you. It is a bit like Sky Plus but for Digital TV as opposed to Satellite. Many of the available units allow you to watch one channel while recording another, or watch what you have already recorded whilst recording another or even recording two channels whilst you are away from home. The programmes are stored on an internal hard drive, the bigger the drive, the more you can record. Very simple to use, just scroll though the TV listings guide on the unit and hit the record button for anything that takes your fancy. We have a number of different models in our range from 80GB – 250GB in both single and twin tuner models

A recent addition to our range is the one box does all Combo. These are available with or without the Freeview channels and allow you to record to either hard drive or DVD. The beauty of these units is that you can also record programmes you have stored on your internal hard drive to DVD in your Internal DVD drive before deleting them, freeing up more space. There are also different recording qualities available to give you the ability to get more content on either DVD or hard drive than normal.
